Works under the direct supervision of the Director of Risk Management with moderate latitude for use of initiative and independent judgment.
Is responsible for the Return to Work Program for non-work related illness/injuries.
Will maintain a complex database that requires some advanced skills in Excel to manipulate rows, columns, charts and graphs for monthly report formats.
Supports Risk Management to complete significant, prompt and highly accurate data entry responsibilities associated with MS Office, which includes MS Word, and MS Excel workbooks.
Will schedule meetings and prepare minutes as assigned.
Will maintain a professional and positive relationship with employees and outside entities.
Manages a complex filing system for Risk Management.
Must understand that the duties, location of work and shift pattern are subject to change as determined by administration in order to meet department and hospital needs.
Must understand that the duties may include exposure to blood or other potential infectious materials.
Employee actively participates and/or serves in a supporting role to meet the agency's obligations for disaster response and/or recovery or Continuity of Operations (COOP) activation.
Supports the mission and vision of the facility.
Essential Job Functions:
Attends work on a regular and predictable schedule in accordance with agency leave policy and performs other duties as assigned.
Performs office management tasks, compiles data; creates reports; takes and transcribes meeting minutes; answers department phones.
Review non-work related employee illness/injuries and assist with the return to work program.
Will assist the Security office with data entry.
Will review screenings related to COVID - 19 and schedule testing.
Enter data daily into an excwel database Conducts a professional and positive relationship with employees and outside enitites.
Enters work orders in the CAFM system.
Performs other duties as assigned in order to endure services are provided.
Other duties as assigned include but are not limited to actively participation and or serving in a supporting role to meet the agency's obligations for disaster response and or recovery or Continuity of Operations (COOP) activation.
Such participation may require an alternate shift pattern assignment and or location.
Other duties as assigned includes backing up other positions within the department at 100% of work time at the discretion of the director.
This includes, but not limited to, extended sitting, computer-based duties, extended typing, running errands to muliple campus locations and sorting /filling paper documents.

Knowledge Skills Abilities:
Ability to read and write.
Knowledge of and be able to demonstrate through discussion, knowledge and experience entering data into and creating reports from MS Office, and Excel workbooks.
Experience with electronic medical records.
Ability to perform electronic file management.
Ability to perform hard copy file management.
Work alone or in groups while clearly understanding and complying with the chain of command.
Ability to perform mundane as well as high energy tasks.
Knowledge of medical terminology.
Knowledge of Business Objects and Sharepoint Bilingual preferred.
Sign Language preferred.
Registration or Licensure Requirements:
None Initial Selection Criteria:
Experience using Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
Graduation from an accredited high school or GED, plus one (1) year of work experience in a field related to the duties of the position.

Salary Note:
The salary offered will follow HHS HR Policy starting salary guidelines which are typically made at or near the minimum of the salary range.
For internal applicants, there can be limitations in consideration of applicant's current classification and salary and is dependent upon available budget.
Applicants must pass a fingerprint criminal background check, pre-employment drug screen, and registry checks including the Client Abuse/Neglect Reporting System (CANRS), Nurse Aid, Medication Aide and Employee Misconduct, and HHS OIG list of Excluded Individuals/Entities.

Flexibility in work hours may be required for this position.
The position may be required to work overtime and/or extended hours.
Compliance with HHSC immunization policy and state hospital operating procedures related to immunizations is required.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, healthcare workers are considered to be at significant risk for acquiring or transmitting hepatitis B, measles, mumps, rubella, varicella (chicken pox), tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis (whooping cough), and influenza.
All of these diseases are vaccine-preventable.
As a result, state hospital policy requires employees be vaccinated according to their level of contact with individuals.
